The Baltic Exchange Charitable Foundation is helping to fund Sailors’ Society’s confidential helpline which offers care and support to seafarers 24/7 across the globe.
Isolation, shift work, and anxiety about family back home take a harsh toll on seafarers’ mental health.
They need to talk and they need someone to listen.
Sailors’ Society offers a seafarer-focused counselling service that’s free and 24/7. On the end of the phone is someone who can talk to them, often in their first language.
Sara Baade, Sailors’ Society CEO, said: “Thanks to Baltic Exchange Charitable Foundation, we can be there with someone who can listen, offer advice, refer them to other support services, help them contact family and support them through times of personal crisis.”
From relationship problems to health or money worries, Sailors’ Society is here to help. To find out more go to www.sailors-society.org/helpline
